| Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, April 30, 2004 at 10:00 AM in Our Lady of the Wayside Catholic Church, Maddox Road, Chaptico, MD with Fr. John Stack officiating. Interment will follow in Queen of Peace Cemetery, Helen, MD. | |

| Paul Aloysius Reed, Sr., 79, of Chaptico, MD, died April 22, 2004 in Leonardtown, MD. Born January 9, 1925 in Morganza, MD he was the son of the late Mary Elizabeth Thompson and Joseph Payton Reed. He was the loving husband of the late Frances Madeline Reed whom he married March 2, 1946 in Morganza, Maryland. He was the devoted father of Walter Jerome Reed of Chaptico, MD, John Aloysius Reed of Loveville, MD, Herbert Eugene Reed of Youngstown, OH, Mary Magdalen Wilson and Edith Diane Matthews of Forestville, MD, Royal Daniel Reed of Aquasco, MD and Paul Aloysius Reed, Jr. of Chaptico, MD. He was the brother of Cecelia Herbert, Elizabeth Aston, George W. Reed, all of Baltimore, MD and the late John, Richard and Joe Reed. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Mr. Reed was a lifelong St. Mary's County resident and was an Operator/Road Maintenance Supervisor for the Department of Public Works for over 12 years until his retirement on December 27, 1996. Mr. Reed enjoyed gardening, playing cards and tap dancing. Prayers will be said Thursday, April 29, 2004 at 7:00 PM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends from 5-8 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, April 30, 2004 at 10:00 AM in Our Lady of the Wayside Catholic Church with Father John Stack officiating. Interment will follow in Queen of Peace Cemetery. Pallbearers for Mr. Reed will be Jonathan Veney, Carl Bowman, Eddie Bowman, Alvin Whalen and James Bowman, Jr. Honorary Pallbearers will be Martice Whalen, Royal Reed, Jr., Larry Moten, Francis Reed, Joseph Wilson and Richard Reed. | |
