Services:

  A funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 24, 2004 at 10:00 AM in the funeral home with Rev. Kenneth Huff officiating. Interment will follow in Trinity Memorial Gardens, Waldorf, MD.

Visitation:

  Public visition will be Friday April 23, 2004 from 5 - 8 PM with prayers being said at 7:00 PM in the funeral home.
  Hardy Harrison Clark, 83, of Mechanicsville, MD, died April 21, 2004 in Mechanicsville. Born April 28, 1920 in Vesuvius, VA, he was the son of the late Gracie Mae and Andrew L. Clark. He was the loving husband of the late Marie Sellers Clark who he married on November 4, 1946 in St. George's Episcopal Church in Valley Lee, MD and who predeceased him on July 31, 1989 in Leonardtown. He was the father of Milford Clark of Hughesville, MD, Ulanda Wold of Martinsburg, W.V, Danny Clark of Stanley, VA, Mark Clark of Grasonville, MD, Judy Negley of Winchester, VA and Patsy Raley, Sandra Morgan and Jesse Clark all of Mechanicsville. He was brother to Troy Clark of Buena, VA, Florence Clark of Natural Bridge Station, VA, Daisy Hall of Raphine, VA, Rosa Kelley of Berkeley Springs, WV, Wallace Clark and Curtis Clark of Vesuvius, VA, Hazel Clark of Marbury, MD, Martha Clark and Betty Sue Perry of Fairfield, VA, Hilda McMillan of Greenville, VA, Andrew "Sonny" Clark of Charlottesville, VA and the late Greenlee Clark. He is also survived by 19 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Mr. Clark served in the United States Army from August 21, 1940 to December 8, 1945 and was awarded bronze stars for campaigns in Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland and Central Europe. He was also honored with the award of a Good Conduct Medal. He moved to St. Mary's County from Vesuvius, VA in 1946 where he worked at the sawmill for Herman Hewitt and drove for Friendly Cab. He was a carpenter and member of Local #132. He retired in 1979 and again drove for Friendly Cab. Mr. Clark attended the Oakley Senior Center and he loved to dance. Services were held on Friday, April 23, 2004 at the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home with Andy Clark, brother of the deceased officiating. A Funeral Service was held on Saturday, April 24, 2004 in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Chapel with Reverend Kenneth Huff from Mount Zion Baptist Church in Vesuvius, VA officiating. Interment followed in Trinity Memorial Gardens in Waldorf. Pallbearers for Mr. Clark were his sons, Milford, Danny, Jesse and Mark Clark and grandsons, Michael Clark and James D. Raley. Honorary pallbearers were grandsons Travis Negley and Mark Clark and sons-in-law, James R. Raley, Dennis Morgan and Clement Negley. Contributions may be made to Hospice of St. Mary's, P.O.
